Website Redesign Before and After: Bringing Just Sell My Car Back to Life
How ProImpact modernized the website for Just Sell My Car while preserving the brand, personality, and owner-focused nature of the business.
Some websites serve a business well for many years. That was true for Just Sell My Car. The original website had been online for a long time, and it still reflected the personality of the business: unique automobiles, personal service, and a focus on helping owners connect with the right buyer.
But over time, the way people use websites changes. Mobile browsing becomes the norm, design expectations shift, and older layouts no longer communicate a business as clearly as they once did. In this case, the original website was not fully responsive for modern mobile viewing, and the overall presentation no longer reflected the quality of the service Bruce provides.
The goal of the redesign was not to erase the business identity. The goal was to preserve what made the business recognizable while rebuilding the site into a clearer, more modern, and more mobile-friendly experience.

The Original Website Had History — But It Needed a New Foundation
The original site had served the business for years and helped establish its presence. It carried recognizable branding, a straightforward message, and a distinct identity. But like many older websites, it reflected the design standards of an earlier era. The layout was narrow, the content was more compressed, and the visual structure was not as effective for today’s users.
Rather than simply “freshening up” the homepage, the redesign focused on structure, clarity, and flow. The updated homepage gives visitors a better understanding of what the business does and who it serves, while also presenting the vehicles and service in a more polished, premium way.
One of the Biggest Improvements Was Mobile Viewing
One of the clearest reasons for the redesign was mobile usability. The original website was accessible on a phone, but it was not fully responsive for modern mobile viewing. On smaller screens, the content felt more compressed and harder to navigate.
The new mobile homepage presents the service in a cleaner, more readable way. It gives the photography room to work, makes the value proposition easier to understand, and creates a better path for the visitor from first impression to action.
The Redesign Clarified the Personal Nature of the Business
Just Sell My Car is not a dealership model and it is not a generic listing service. The business is built around Bruce Burns personally managing the process of representing and selling distinctive automobiles. That is an important difference — and the redesign needed to communicate it more clearly.
The new About page does more than introduce Bruce. It explains the personal responsibility behind the service, the hands-on nature of the work, and why that approach matters to owners of distinctive automobiles. This is the kind of content that helps build trust.
The Service Needed to Be Easier to Understand
A major purpose of the redesign was to better explain what Bruce actually does. The original website contained useful information, but much of it was delivered in a more compact format. The new site reorganizes the service into clearer steps and sections so visitors can understand the process more quickly.
The new Services page explains the process from first conversation through presentation, buyer communication, negotiation, and completion. It makes the difference between “listing a car” and properly representing one much more understandable.
The Branding Was Preserved — Not Replaced
One of the most important decisions in a redesign is what should stay. In this project, the answer was clear: the recognizable business name, automotive personality, and owner-focused identity were all worth preserving. The redesign did not try to turn Just Sell My Car into a generic corporate website. Instead, it refined the presentation around what already made the business distinctive.
This is often what a good redesign should do. It should not automatically discard the existing identity. It should identify what is still valuable, improve what no longer works, and rebuild the website around the business as it exists today.
The Result
The new Just Sell My Car website now presents the business more clearly on both desktop and mobile. It better reflects the quality of the service, gives Bruce’s role more visibility, and provides visitors with a more modern and confident experience from the first screen forward.
Most importantly, it still feels like Just Sell My Car. The personality of the business was not lost in the redesign. It was clarified, strengthened, and brought forward in a more useful way.
